henri de toulouse-lautrec embraced new forms of art such as lithography & employed his art for commercial purposes such as posters <famously for the moulin rouge> and covers of books & sheet music / he was quite versatile & a modern artist \ lautrec is a very interesting character not least because he was an aristocrat who lived a bohemian life in fin siecle decadent paris / he died at 37 from ill health brought about by alcoholism & syphilis <there is that scourge of artists i have been reading about again!>
